Pixel Painting

For this tutorial you will need:
PSP 7

PIXEL PAINTING FOR THE BEGINNER

OPEN PSP 7  - GO TO FILE - NEW OR CLICK

USE THESE SETTINGS

CLICK OK

THE CANVAS IS VERY SMALL SO WE WILL BE ZOOMING IN TO DO OUR DRAWING

 

CLICK YOUR ZOOM ICON AND PLACE IT OVER YOUR CANVAS , SEE BELOW

CLICK YOUR MOUSE AND YOU WILL SEE YOUR CANVAS GO LARGER

BELOW IS A SHOT OF WHAT WE WILL BE AIMING FOR AND I HAVE USED THE ZOOM TOOL TO ENLARGE IT

WITHOUT USING YOUR ZOOM TOOL THIS IS WHAT YOU WOULD BE WORKING WITH

SO ITS IMPORTANT THAT YOU ZOOM IN

 CLICK YOUR PAINT BRUSH ICON

AND THEN TOOL OPTIONS

USE THE SETTINGS SHOWN BELOW

 

SET THE COLOUR PALETTE  AT YOUR OWN CHOICE

I HAVE MINE SET AT

BLACK - FOREGROUND

RED -  BACKGROUND

TO CHANGE YOUR COLOURS PLACE YOUR MOUSE OVER THE COLOUR PALETTE AND YOUR EYE DROPPER WILL APPEAR , LEFT CLICK TO CHOOSE THE  FOREGROUND COLOUR AND RIGHT CLICK TO CHOOSE THE BACKGROUND COLOUR ,

 

NOW WE READY TO BEGIN

START DRAWING THE OUT LINE

1 PIXEL  = 1 CLICK OF MOUSE

2 PIXELS TOGETHER  = 2 CLICKS OF MOUSE

 

THIS TAKES A BIT PRACTICE BUT THE IMAGE WE ARE MAKING IS MOSTLY STRAIGHT LINES WHICH WILL MAKE IT EASIER FOR YOU TO LEARN THE BASICS

 USE YOUR UNDO TOOL TO REMOVE A PIXEL  

YOU CAN ALSO USE YOUR ERASER TOOL TO UNDO ANY MISTAKES

TRY TO DO SOMETHING SIMILAR TO THIS

WHEN YOU HAVE YOUR IMAGE DRAWN WE ARE GOING TO FILL IN THE BOXES

SELECT YOUR MAGIC WAND

AND THEN TOOL OPTIONS

USE THE SETTINGS SHOWN BELOW

CLICK INSIDE THE FIRST SECTION AS SHOWN BELOW

SELECT YOUR FLOOD FILL TOOL AND THEN TOOL OPTIONS

USE THE SETTINGS BELOW

 NOW FLOODFILL WITH A COLOUR OF YOUR CHOICE

 

THEN GO TO SELECTIONS - SELECT NONE

REPEAT THE SAME STEPS FOR THE NEXT TWO SECTIONS OF YOUR IMAGE

NOW THAT WASN'T TOO BAD WAS IT?  :))

ALL WE NEED TO DO NOW IS WITH YOUR IMAGE HIGHLIGHTED GO TO EDIT - COPY OR

OPEN UP ANIMATION SHOP

GO TO EDIT - PASTE AS NEW ANIMATION OR  AND SAVE YOUR WORK
